For too many years, I have seen mental health and substance abuse professionals debating over which type of treatment is most applicable for what kind of problem a person faces. It is time to move beyond these debates. Clinical judgement and a firm theraputic alliance are the foundation for developing many different kinds of strategies to assist our clients heal from their problems.
The Institute for Mental health Solutions dedicates itself to training licensed mental health and substance abuse clinicians in multiple theories and methods of psychotherapy and recovery from the compulsive addictive spectrum.
In the coming weeks and months, leaders in the mental health and substance abuse fields, first on Long Island and later on throughout the United States and the world will be consulted to share collective wisdom.
The time for fighting amongst ourselves must come to an end.
